Intec strengthens global operations with appointment
- Intec grows with additions to technical team, appointment and new products

- Intec ‘to capture greater market share in next 12 months’

Digital printing specialist Intec Printing Solutions has strengthened its global operations by appointing Mark Baker-Homes to the role of business development director.

Baker-Homes has joined Intec from global pre-press manufacturer Glunz & Jensen, where he was responsible for its worldwide inkjet programme.

He joined the Danish firm in 2004 as a product specialist for the at-that-time newly formed inkjet division, however had worked up to business unit director by 2007 and took responsibility for the segment’s financial performance and sales channel management, as well as product strategy, marketing and product development.

In this time, he took the inkjet business unit of Glunz & Jensen from its inception to the 1,000th inkjet CtP system sold in October last year.

Baker-Homes (pictured, top) said: ‘Previously I have worked with partners throughout the world, concentrating on how to add value to their businesses.

‘Business is a two way relationship and I work with our partners to help develop business models with them that complement their organisations and improve their product offerings. This creates a stable relationship from which to grow.’

Founder and managing director of Intec Printing Solutions Ian Melville said: ‘Glunz & Jensen is renowned for its leading position in the graphics industry, and has a reputation as the Mercedes of manufacturers to the pre-press sector.

‘When we looked to expand our operations, we wanted to bring someone on board who possessed genuine strengths in the industry, and who had the pedigree to really make a difference to our customers, our relationships and with that – strengthen our business.

‘Intec has an established portfolio of products, with some really exciting new additions that will be rolled out during the course of 2013. I believe this will give our partners, both new and old, a fantastic opportunity over the coming year.

‘As we enter the new year, Intec is looking to build stronger relationships with its partners and to really help them develop their businesses.  We believe that with Mark’s background we can achieve that, and strengthen our team here.

‘With the additions we made to our technical team in December, Mark joining us and with the new products we will roll out over 2013 - we forecast capturing still greater market share over the next 12 months.’
