Jason Longley joins Screen Europe
Screen Europe has appointed Jason Longley as national sales manager UK and Ireland effective May 1, 2022. Longley will be responsible for sales of the Truepress Jet520HD range of high-speed inkjet printers in UK and Ireland.
Longley brings a wealth of industry experience to this position. He previously spent 11 years at Konica Minolta, most recently heading up its UK commercial print-sales team. He also spent time working within the dealer network, as well as five years with Imation UK, focusing on its proofing solutions.
Before moving into sales and marketing, Longley worked in the industry for 18 years as an operator and production manager. He also set up and ran his own commercial print business.
Longley commented: ‘I feel both excited and lucky to join a business with Screen Europe’s heritage and reputation. Having spent many years using their excellent scanners, imagesetters and workflow products, the opportunity to help drive their inkjet continuous feed offering forward felt just right.
‘Historically, continuous feed has been a solution aimed at the direct mail and transactional market. But I firmly believe the commercial print space is at a tipping point where the proven reliability and longevity of continuous inkjet hardware is now matched by quality and running costs. The capability of the new-generation 520HD to print on traditional offset stocks is a real game changer.’
Longley added that while continuous inkjet may not be a good fit for all commercial printers, technology has evolved massively in recent years, and ‘commercial-print companies owe it to themselves to look at the technology prior to investing in traditional offset or toner-based presses’.
Bui Burke, senior vice president Sales at Screen Europe, said: ‘We’re delighted to have Jason on board. His background in commercial printing fits perfectly with the market Screen specializes in. We’ve been supplying equipment of the highest standards to the UK commercial print market for more than 40 years, and our latest generation of high-speed inkjet printing systems will carry on this proud tradition.
‘The UK is a very important market for us, so all of us at Screen are fully committed to supporting Jason in his activities and we wish him every success in his new role.’
