Romania buys-in to flexo

More than 110 delegates from 42 companies attended the inaugural two-day seminar at Poiana-Brasov in Romania designed to fill the knowledge gap in flexography that exists in a country where there is no professional organization to assist.  For managers and senior personnel at package printing companies, it offered a unique opportunity to learn about and discuss the differences between flexo and offset techniques.

Entitled ‘Make Every Second Count’, the event was organized by flexo dedicated sales and service company Graphic Open Systems (GOS), and supported by a number of leading international manufacturers, including: AVT, Comexi, DuPont, EskoArtwork, Mark Andy, and Rotoflex.  The program was designed to update the delegates on new market trends, and introduce them to the latest technology available for flexo converters serving the label, carton and flexible packaging markets.

Presentations included the latest thinking in HD-Flexo, use of inline UV, mid-web CI flexo printing, and coordinated workflow from narrow web press to inline finishing.
Speaking for GOS, managing director Sebastian Boureanu commented: ‘The success of this seminar indicates the need for greater flexo knowledge in Romania and other Eastern European countries.  We are grateful to the manufacturers, who provided valuable knowledge, and to the delegates who have given us such positive feedback.’
