RPC takes over Nordfolien

With approximately 400 employees at its locations in Steinfeld, Germany and Zdzieszwice, Poland, sales of €120 million (US$147.5 million) and a capacity of approximately 60,000 tonnes annually, RPC bpi group described Nordfolien as a leading manufacturer of premium quality flexible industrial and consumer packaging that has developed, patented and commercialized a number of innovative, market-leading products. Nordfolien’s industrial product offering will extend its portfolio whilst 'adding further innovation capability in an attractive market segment.'

Nordfolien also operates recycling facilities in both Germany and Poland, which will expand RPC bpi group’s recycling capabilities to over 80,000 tonnes, and improve its sustainability offering to customers in Europe.

RPC bpi group described the acquisition of Nordfolien as an important next step in growing the group’s flexibles platform. It will augment RPC bpi group’s market position in Europe, as well as providing access to higher growth geographies.

The Nordfolien management team will continue to operate the business from its current locations, and Nordfolien will become integrated into the RPC bpi group as its fifth business unit.

Completion of the acquisition is subject to clearance from the Polish and German competition authorities, and is expected, at the latest, by the end of September 2018.
