Dyne courses to tackle adhesion problems

Surface adhesion specialist Dyne Technology is to host a series of one-day training courses addressing surface energy, and how to improve bond performance to plastics and rubber.

 

The series of training courses taking place throughout 2013 will be held at Dyne’s UK technology center in Lichfield, Staffordshire, featuring a laboratory hosting all the latest equipment in plasma and corona treatment, surface energy measurement testing and training facilities.

 

Attendees will learn how to achieve better adhesion to low surface energy materials, such as polypropylene, polyethylene and other similar low surface energy materials where printing inks rub off, glued parts fail, gaskets and seals won’t bond, or paint and coatings will not adhere. 

 

Dyne said these problems are experienced throughout the automotive, medical device and printing industries, and others that have to bond, print, or coat plastic or rubber components, adding that issues are becoming increasingly commonplace with the increased use of polyolefins.

 

The standard course title is “Plasma and Corona Surface Treatment”, but custom courses can also be prepared to customer requirements, and can be run on-site or off-site. The one-day training course is tailored to cover the problems related to each delegate’s industry where possible.

 

Course dates for 2013 are February 13, March 13, April 17, May 15, June 12, October 16, November 13 and December 11.

 

March 14, May 16 and November 14 are further possible course dates, although they are still to be confirmed.

 

In addition, a final course is still to take place on December 12 this year.
