Nosco expands RFID offerings
The company partners with Avery Dennison and invests in RFID technology.

Wisconsin-headquartered full-service packaging provider Nosco has partnered with material specialist Avery Dennison to expand its RFID offering for healthcare and CPG markets.
The collaboration enhances Nosco’s ability to deliver best-in-class RFID technology to healthcare and CPG markets, helping customers improve patient safety, optimize inventory control, increase supply chain visibility and combat counterfeiting.
‘We're thrilled to work with an innovative partner like Nosco to grow RFID labeling in the healthcare and CPG markets. Working together to grow RFID adoption is an exciting step forward in bridging the physical and the digital,’ commented DJ Lee, director of inlay sales at Avery Dennison North America.
RFID labels can help to reliably track products in retail or clinical environments or meet the new labeling standards of Walmart, Sam’s Club and other major retailers.
In May of last year, Nosco invested in a new Tamarack RFID Modular Versa-Web for its Packaging Innovation Center. This new equipment has replaced the RFID technology that has been in use for the past 20 years. The updated machine is up to 16 times more productive than its predecessor, providing increased speeds and the ability to simultaneously operate on multiple lanes.
The Tamarack applies ultra-high-frequency (UHF) wet RFID inlays to pressure-sensitive labels, supports inlay sizes down to 3/8 in, offers speeds over 300 ft/min and offers enhanced registration capabilities.
Randy Wright, digital label value stream manager and Chris Dwyer, CAD and technical label manager at Nosco, commented: ‘Adding the Tamarack to our label assets at the Packaging Innovation Center is fantastic. Our customers can enjoy better quality and improved tolerances through this new machine. Not only can we speed up our lead times, but Nosco also benefits from operator-friendly asset features and reliable local support for parts and service.’
