Inovar Packaging Group acquires ModTek

Inovar Packaging Group has acquired ModTek, one of the leading regional prime label producers, based in Pennsauken, NJ, marking another milestone in its growth strategy.

ModTek is the 11th platform acquisition. Inovar currently stretches across 13 locations nationwide, with plants focusing on prime labels, shrink sleeves and extended content and sustainable packaging for top brands.

ModTek specializes in pressure-sensitive and extended-content labels for the food/beverage, craft beer, wine, spirits and durable goods markets. It offers flexographic, digital and hybrid printing capabilities, as well as premium embellishments, such as hot stamping and embossing.

‘As part of our ongoing efforts to expand and innovate, we are constantly looking for opportunities to enter new markets, attract new customers and enhance capabilities through strategic acquisitions,’ said Jeff Brezek, CEO of Inovar Packaging Group. ‘Acquisition of ModTek strengthens our position across a range of preferred end markets and increases production and distribution capacity in a critical region of the US. It also allows us to offer additional solutions, including roll-fed, pressure-sensitive, RFID and sustainability options. Most importantly, it brings together two talented teams with their members excited to collaborate moving forward.’

Shawn Borman, owner of ModTek, his family business, will continue to lead the New Jersey operations in partnership with the Inovar corporate team.

‘ModTek and Inovar share deep alignment in what is core to ongoing success—continued emphasis on taking great care of customers, employees and partners. I’m looking forward to the value the combined companies will be able to deliver,’ commented Borman.
