Epson and Mack Color inaugurate digital printing lab
Epson has teamed up with Mack Color, a Brazilian producer of self-adhesive labels, to inaugurate the Epson & Mack Color Lab, a showroom equipped with Epson digital printing equipment for label production. The initiative aims to promote Epson's ColorWorks line.

Marcos Rossi, director of Mack Color, said: ‘Mack Color has been known for 36 years for being able to combine different printing methods with numerous types of different finishes. However, many customers come to us with the need for simple labels, with print quality, resistance to humidity and quick delivery. To serve this audience, Mack Color and Epson's ColorWorks line was perfect. Optimizing labeling processes for segments that require more flexibility helps speed up product launches, makes emergency production feasible, makes production lines more flexible and eliminates pre-printed labelstock.’
The Epson & Mack Color Lab has three systems on display: the ColorWorks TM-C7500G and TM-C3500, which are printers up to 4 inches wide, for longer runs in industrial processes and short runs respectively, and the ColorWorks TM-C6500A, which allows printing up to 8 inches wide, serving several segments including the chemical sector with GHS standard labels.
Epson ColorWorks printers eliminate in many situations the need to use pre-printed labels in a printer, since they allow all content to be printed at the time it will be used, bringing more flexibility and efficiency to the workflow. ‘This was a point of great frustration for our customers, who ended up losing money with unnecessary printing or when there are changes in the design required for label standards,’ commented Mateus Larrabure, product manager at Epson.
