HP confirms orders
During Labelexpo Europe, HP announced the first HP Indigo 30000 customer in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. Heret Printing specializes in the design and production of folding cartons and packaging for high-end personal care products such as perfumes, cosmetics and skin care.
‘In the cosmetics market, many jobs are done in small batches, and it can take a lot of time and calibration to get good results from printing on offset equipment,’ said Avi Noiman, Heret Printing, CEO. ‘In addition to reducing the amount of time it takes to get to full production, the HP Indigo 30000 opens up possibilities for us to expand our offerings and develop new markets by providing packaging that sets our customers’ products apart.’
The HP Indigo 30000 Digital Press will be installed at Heret Printing’s facility in Yavne, Israel by the end of the year. The company is working with HP to test and validate multiple converting and finishing options on a variety of high-end substrates, including metalized and specialty stocks.
It will integrate the HP Indigo 30000 with its current upstream and converting workflow based on successful trials of HP Indigo’s print compatibility with coatings; varnishes; lamination for both pre-print for metalized boards and post-print for high-end finishes; foils; and other print-enhancement technologies.
In a second show announcement Links Labels & Tapes confirmed the purchase of an HP Indigo WS6600 digital press.
The company carries out a wide range of printing services including some commercial applications as well as a wide range of labels, flexible packaging and printed tapes.
‘The new press runs at twice the speed of our existing press and will double our digital capacity overnight,’ said Reg Rudd, managing director, Links Labels and Tapes. ‘This additional capability will enable us to move the shorter runs from our flexo presses as well as take on new work. Apart from the increased speed, we like the new server and the ease with which it is able to handle variable data, and speed up the process of setting up multi-colored label printing.’
