Label Express invests in Durst Tau 340 RSC-E LED press

Croydon-based label converter installs the first Durst RSC-E LED press in the UK.

UK-based converter Label Express has invested in a Tau 340 RSC-E LED single-pass label press from Durst Group, to further expand is production capabilities to accommodate the company’s growth.

Croydon-based Label Express is a front runner in LED digital production technology and celebrates its 40th anniversary this year.

A crucial factor in the choice of digital technology was the robustness of the inks required for label production – particularly for beverage labels – along with the quality of print at a native 1,200 DPI which were key to the investment in the first Durst RSC-E LED press in the UK.

Simon Williams, managing director of Label Express, said: ‘The need to respond to customer orders quickly is a main focus for Label Express and the LED digital technology enhances our commitment to our sustainability credentials. Along with the great quality, our speed of turnaround and focus in providing excellent customer service, this is a great addition to our overall product offering and is a key factor in driving in new business to the company.’

‘The business set up offered by Durst and the way it operates is very much in tune with our own ethos. They have customer-focused qualities and work very much as a partner rather than just being a supplier. Viewing the impressive Durst Group headquarters in Brixen, Italy, and seeing the manufacturing plant and customer experience center also played a major part in the decision making,’ added Williams.

Simon Cosh, Durst UK and Ireland’s label business development manager, commented: ‘We are delighted to welcome Label Express into the Durst Group family as it continues to move ahead with digital production. As a front runner with this new digital LED press, we look forward to helping Label Express develop into new areas, particularly as it benefits from being able to produce the highest quality LED label prints that will help open new doors of opportunity.’
