Super Web Digital unveils Memjet-powered label press
Super Web Digital has launched the Super Web DCOMM 100 label press, powered by Memjet, at Labelexpo Americas on stand 1637. This is the first in a series of digital printing systems that will be offered for a wide range of commercial and industrial applications.
Super Web brings more than 30 years of experience serving the web offset market and is now applying its engineering and manufacturing skills, including servo control, to producing digital presses.
The DCOMM 100 label press runs at 160 feet per minute with a print resolution of 1600 x 1200 dpi. Five colors (CMYK and Spot) print from one module within 20 inches along the web. The system can print on media ranging from 2” to 9” wide.
The base label press model is roll-to-roll and there are options for running inline with die-cutting equipment and to retrofit onto existing flexographic presses.
The Super Web DCOMM 100 label press is powered by Memjet’s print engine which features over 350,000 nozzles (70,400 nozzles per color x five colors) that deliver millions of drops of ink every second. When configured with up to five print heads, the system’s page-wide print head delivers 1,600 dpi native print resolution in both process color (CMYK) and spot color. This Memjet print engine can deliver speeds up to 32 inches per second (160 feet per minute). Each ink color is delivered via a 10-liter ink tank.
