Taittinger offering packaging to mark FIFA World Cup 2014

The Taittinger champagne house has developed a limited edition Brut Réserve NV and gift carton especially for the FIFA World Cup featuring holographic footballs.

For the football World Cup Taittinger has created an elegant gift carton made of Incada from Iggesund Paperboard and decorated with holographic footballs

Taittinger is supplying the official champagne for this year’s football World Cup. The limited edition gift carton is a version of the packaging that won Carton of the Year in 2012 at the Europe-wide ProCarton/ECMA packaging awards. The winning carton was decorated with round holographic effects representing champagne bubbles, which have been transformed for the World Cup into holographic footballs.

The World Cup gift carton is made of Iggesund Paperboard’s Incada Exel 235g/sq m paperboard and lenticular foil, with converting carried out by Le Sanglier, which specializes in gift cartons for champagne. The foil lamination is by API. The bottle has been specially produced for the event, with the World Cup trophy depicted on a gold label.

Clovis Taittinger, the champagne house’s export director, said: ‘It is a momentous occasion for us to be associated with such a major event as the football World Cup.

‘We have used the latest in both printing technology and 3D printing to create both the unique bottle and the carton.’
