Pulse overprint varnishes verified by RIT
Narrow web ink and varnish specialist Pulse Roll Label Products has received verification for two of its core UV flexo overprint varnishes (OPV)s by the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) as part of the HP Overprint Varnish Performance Program.
RIT’s HP Indigo Overprint Varnish Performance Program enables manufacturers, suppliers and HP Indigo digital press owners to have both water-based and UV coatings evaluated. The procedure incorporates several tests in accordance with the stated protective uses for the coatings.
The newly verified products from Pulse are IV044 gloss varnish and IV047 matte varnish. Pulse noted that the verified products are already established in the market. However, it is only recently that they have been tested and independently evaluated at the RIT under the HP Overprint Varnish Performance Program.
Mikaela Harding, product manager at Pulse Roll Label Products, said: ‘We are delighted that our market leading matte and gloss overprintable varnishes have been verified by a globally recognized program for best performance in terms of peeling and adhesion, solvent resistance and optical tests.
‘These independent results prove exactly why these products are so popular with digital label printers around the world,’ concluded Harding.
