Thinfilm details EAS/NFC production developments
Thinfilm shipped more than five million electronic article surveillance (EAS) anti-theft tags to its go-to-market partner during the second quarter.
The shipment total included the first volume orders earmarked for use in the denims category. Thinfilm expects a significant increase in demand for EAS tags during the second half of 2018.
Thinfilm also continues to make progress in the buildout of its roll-based line for the production of NFC tags. The first NFC-specific equipment is now onsite in San Jose and installation is underway. There are no material delays, and the company expects initial roll-to-roll production of NFC to begin by the end of the third quarter as previously communicated.
