Kurz wins multiple prizes at foil association awards

The Kurz Group was awarded two golds, three silvers and one bronze prize at this year's Foil and Specialty Effects Association (FSEA) Gold Leaf Awards.

The FSEA is an association with more than 300 members, and supports them in the marketing of print finishing. The FSEA Gold Leaf Awards are given out annually and celebrated their 20th anniversary in 2013.

Kurz’s first gold was awarded in the greeting card category for the Season’s Greetings Christmas card created by its US subsidiary Kurz Transfer Products. In addition to the gold prize, the stamping foil manufacturer also received the “Best of Show” award for this entry.

Kurz's second gold was earned in the category for best application of a holographic foil for the poster "The Beautiful", the third award this job has won.

Kurz received a silver award in the calendar category for its 2013 wall calendar with the artistically hot stamped Roman Coliseum as its central motif. The second silver came in the book jacket category for a cover of the packaging journal "Creativ Verpacken", created by Kurz member company hinderer + muehlich.

The third silver was awarded in the self-promotion category for the poster "Emotions". The poster shows packaging samples that incorporate hot stamping foils for transmitting marketing messages.

The company received the bronze prize for the creative use of folding carton in the current edition of its art box, "Presentation" (pictured, top), a collection presenting diverse packaging samples in combination with a work of art.

Overall, print products enhanced with hot stamping foil or cold foil from Kurz collected twenty prizes in the awards program. Kurz cold foils participated in all winning projects in the label sector.
